- Advanced Nesting (Staydown and
CommonLine) now allows a "catch all" knowledge.
This allows one knowledge to be used for multiple materials - The knowledge must be
named STAYDOWN
- The DOIT File must have an entry with the knowledge
as STAYDOWN and the layer as STAYDOWN
- If a different knowledge is

Q: How do I do this?
A:
This is
done by holding down the Alt key, then by using the mouse click
and drag the button to the desired location, release the Alt key
and mouse button. This position will be automatically saved for
the next time Automation is used.
-
When a new database
is created, materials and outside layers will be empty.
-
Right-click Excel
file within Windows Explorer and Cut with Router-CIM Automation.
Q: How do I set-up Automation to do this?
A: Open Automation Settings (File->Settings) and go to the
System Folders tab. Select an Import Wizard Format from
the dropdown. Click OK to save the changes. Close
Automation. Now you're able to right-click and cut an
Excel file.
Version
12 - 10/24/2007
-
When working with
Assemblies, an option has been added to use the new job’s
Knowledge, Post Processors, and DOIT File rather than using those
settings from the job being added as an Assembly.
-
When a Post
Processor includes Sheet Origin and Nesting Origin, a new job will be
set to the values found in the Post. If those values are not in the
Post, then the job default settings will be applied.
-
Macros-Update Preview: it's possible to update multiple previews at
once, rather than updating them one at a time.
Version
9 - 09/26/2007
-
Adds Vista compatibility
-
The Automation Doit Editor
will recognize layers in DXF files when the AcDbLayerTableRecord identifier is used
-
Duplicate materials will be highlighted in the material window for
easier recognition
-
Importing a Pack and Go (PAG) will compare the Post Processor in the PAG
to the one in the Router-CIM folder. The newer Post Processor will
be kept.
-
Within Windows Explorer (My Computer), double-clicking a Pack and Go (PAG)
file will automatically import the PAG into the current database.
NOTE: If Automation is open, the Refresh Job Library button will
need to be clicked for the job to display.
-
A material will not be deleted if it is being used in a job
-
Reporting an error via email now allows the user to include
their email address and more details about the error they received.
Version

-
After adding an
association in the Doit Editor, the selected knowledge(s) and layer(s)
will be deselected.
-
The Doit Editor
will automatically capitalize layer and knowledge names
-
Viewing a drawing
with Cam Companion 2008 then closing the drawing with Automation running will no
longer close the required acad.exe Automation needs to run.
-
RPC Server
Unavailable errors will no longer occur from the missing acad.exe.
Version
5 - 09/04/2007
- The background
process of AutoCAD/Cam Companion 2006 will no longer appear after
looking at a drawing when Automation is open.

now get printed to the labels when the Part Name tab has "part number"
and "label 1" selected.
-
Include Dynamic
Variables of materials for only the materials in the job.
Version 3 - 08/28/2007
- When multiple versions of AutoCAD
are installed while using Cam Companion 2008, Automation will no longer
open two instances of AutoCAD.
- Excel Import Wizard: changing the worksheet within the import wizard
will display the corresponding data from the Excel file.
- While importing a Pack and Go and selecting the overwrite materials
option, duplicate materials will not be created.
- Automation will automatically select the version of AutoCAD to use if
the previously selected version is no longer available.
- Files related to the Post Processor will be excluded from the
import. This is to prevent an older post from overwriting a newer
post. The user will have the ability to manually include these
files via the import wizard.
- Rotation forced by value is now working.
- AutoNest job records had support for 180 turned on which allowed
Pattern Recognition (patrec) parts to be flipped and drilled
incorrectly.
-
When using the Router-CIM Knowledge Editor to edit more than one knowledge, the
save button will remember the current knowledge name.
Version 2 - 08/24/2007
- Job Settings: While importing a
job, Sequence Sorting Option is automatically set to RANK, TOOL SORT,
CLOSETS POINT.
- Job Settings: the selected printer will be saved correctly and reports
will be printed to this printer.
- Part Settings: the field Rotate Angle is now available during the Excel
Import Wizard.
- Prevent a new database to be named the same as the currently used
database since this would cause a file lock error.
