The Fusion Series

Through the use of high-performance servos and the latest feedback technology from GE Fanuc, Komo has designed a NEW CNC machine with you in mind. The Fusion Machining Center gives you all the high quality components that you would expect from Komo Machine while also giving you the versatility to decide what you want on your CNC machining center.

Know the best way to choose a CNC machining center? Run your finger along the edge of a finished part, glide it around a corner. If it feels like it needs sanding, it wasn’t machined on a Komo. The Fusion reliably produces the finest, chip-free finishes you've ever seen. These are tough, precise machines ready for years of high-output, profitable performance.

Experts say this is obvious: either improve your part production technology now or your shop will be obsolete in just a few short years. In order to survive – and thrive in the future – you must address critical issues such as productivity, margins, cost containment, labor shortages and “lot one” delivery pressures today.

You don't have the time to research and become an expert on CNC technology and its implementation. You can rely on Komo for that! You need a faster, more integrated, more automated process solution to be profitable – you need a CNC machining center from Komo Machine.

Jump-Start Your Productivity
Komo’s Fusion Series of CNC machining centers is engineered to fulfill your needs in a work cell production style. Small shop or large, the Fusion Series is a versatile, heavy-duty work cell that produces consistently superior parts and delivers better part finishes at higher cutting speeds - up to 3150ipm!

A Fusion CNC Machining Center eliminates wasteful separate production steps. In one economical station, you can rout, drill, shape and profile parts from full sheet nests in one seamless, integrated process! You'll get maximum material yield and greater production versatility with minimum part set-ups. The Fusion comes in logical table size selections to match your manufacturing preferences.

Front-End PC Versatility, CNC Machining Center Reliability

We've married the power and familiarity of a Windows®-based PC with the flawless reliability of a GE Fanuc machine control system. Our exclusive fiber-optic connected front-end PC operation and programming system offers you faster, more flexible production control at the machine.

Your operator can store and retrieve hundreds of programs right on the shop floor. Harness the native power of PC connectivity possibilities with your customers and your internal computer systems.

No other CNC machining center offers the user-friendliness and the power of a Fusion. Most importantly, the front-end PC allows you to integrate emerging machine programming software advances, such as nested-based manufacturing and the latest in cabinet design to machine production code software, into your production.

The compact, heavy-duty construction of the Fusion is achieved by use of 3D modeling on our Finite Element Analysis (FEA) engineering computer systems. It's the same design process used by leading aerospace firms. With FEA, we can mathematically calculate anything about Fusion construction, and translate it into accurate, verified frame components for maximum structural integrity. The unique column design provides superior gantry support and vibration damping.

The Fusion includes:

Machining Head

The Fusion gives your choice of spindles and our Komo Sales Managers will gladly help you decide what is the right spindle for you:

  16HP, 24000RPM, Air-Cooled HSK 63F Spindle
  16HP, 24000RPM, Liquid-Cooled HSK 63F Spindle
  27HP, 24000RPM, Liquid-Cooled HSK 63F Spindle
  7.5HP, 30000RPM, Liquid-Cooled HSK 63F Spindle

One 15 tool automatic aggregate-capable toolchanger, servo-controlled and bi-directional. The toolchanger eliminates the need for the operator to stop the machine to change tools manually, allowing the program to continue uninterrupted.

Table/Work Surface

The work surface is a high-flow cast aluminum precision machined vacuum plenum, with four 1" part location pins and a Ryertex grid table.

2 - 60" x 72" (1524mm x 1828mm) Tables

All tables available in 72" (1828mm) width

Dust/Chip Removal

High-velocity automatic spindle air blast system creates a vortex for optimal dust and chip evacuation, as well as efficient cooling of the cutting tool.

The spindle is equipped with open/close metal dust shroud and a 6" (152.4mm) steel adapter for easy hookup to your dust collection system.

Positioning

Table and carriage travels are made by pre-loaded precision ballscrews and powered by a new digitally-controlled GE Fanuc advanced HVI high-speed servo system for optimum acceleration and deceleration.

All positioning bearings are serviced by a pressurized automatic central oil lubrication system.

Machine Programming Software Included!
That's right, when you purchase a Komo CNC machining center, you get a seat of CIM-Tech's amazing Router-CIM 2008 Automation Suite, the industry's easiest and best CAD/CAM machine programming software - with the training you need to maximize your production! Router-CIM truly understands how CNC woodworking machines operate and how best to machine wood because it's been developed by woodworkers, not "dumbed-down" from metalworking CAM software.

Router-CIM automatically provides you with detailed, accurate data on your machining process so you can maximize your production by making better decisions. You'll be able to generate time studies, tool life management reports and payback information while you program.

Automated Do-It function The program's knowledge library continually learns about your production as you work. You'll be able to program parts faster by using your company's method of machining, not a fixed group of actions. For complete hands-off programming, Router-CIM even has an amazing "Do-It" function!

Automatic pattern recognition for machining with multiple drill heads is built-in. Don't be left behind if your production processes change. Router-CIM is the only software package your people will need to learn - ever!

Router-CIM generates spreadsheet reporting of tool, material and labor use before you machine! Innovative pattern recognition routines automatically calculate and apply the fewest number of spindle "hits" for far more efficient use of multiple heads. Suddenly, you're able to simultaneously quote a job, know how much material to buy, list tooling requirements and determine exactly how long it will take to do the job while actually programming the machine! That's information you can use to lower your labor costs, material burdens and machining time. Know, before you cut, if you're going to make money on any job!

Plus, Your Komo CNC Machining Center Has The Industry’s Best Support
Only Komo offers toll-free, 24/7/365 customer assistance right from the factory. Only Komo maintains a network of Factory Technology and Service Centers strategically located across the US for certified training, seminars, live product demos, and installation/service support.
