Technology Centers

Another part of our commitment to providing an Innovative CNC Solution.

Select independent
Komo CNC Machining Center Dealerships have been certified to be regional Authorized Technology Centers. This means that these dealers have made the
commitment to maintain a sales showroom and demonstration facility featuring
Komo CNC Machining Centers and CIM-Tech software products. In most
cases, they are fully authorized to perform sales, support, training,
software and integration functions. They have at least one permanent
employee qualified to demonstrate Komo Machining Center capability and CIM-Tech software to customers. These dealers must also maintain
an inventory of demonstration items such as tooling, tool holders, spoilboards and other equipment to effectively demonstrate CNC
machining center technology to customers.

In addition to the Authorized Technology Centers
hosted by select Komo dealers, Komo has also established a network of
Factory Technology and Service Centers across the country. These convenient
locations are dedicated to selling and supporting Komo CNC machining
centers and
their integration with CIM-Tech software products. Dedicated sales,
applications and technical service staff are available to assist you not
only in the choice of a new Komo CNC machining center, but also to provide ongoing
support for current customers from a more accessible location. |

The Technology Center concept was pioneered by Komo Machine, Inc. as a means
to assist customers in making appropriate technology purchasing decisions.
The CNC machining center market has changed in recent years; the various design
software programs play a more important role in the entire technology
solution that is being provided to the customer. This phenomenon has created
a degree of uncertainty, especially for the "first time" technology
purchaser.
The Technology Center provides a place
for customers to get first-hand experience with integrating the software
they are currently using (or considering) with a Komo CNC machining center. A customer
comes to the Technology Center, sometimes with parts, drawings, or cabinet
jobs, etc., in hand. The entire process from design to machining is
completed with the assistance of a Komo Technology Specialist. During this
process, the customer is educated on the complete operation of the machine,
including executing programs, loading tools, part fixturing, cutting parts,
and assembly of the completed units.
Komo Machine has been recognized
throughout the industry as an innovator. Komo's Application Engineers
pioneered the "flow-through" fixturing technique, which became the principal
technology permitting "zero set-up" CNC routing. With the purchase of
CIM-Tech (Komo's software division) in 1995, potential customers became
exposed to the interaction of software and machine technologies. This led to
Komo's early pioneering of the Nested-Based Manufacturing movement that has
become so popular with some segments of secondary wood product
manufacturing. The Technology Center concept is simply an extension of the
commitment that Komo Machine made to the industry when it manufactured its
first CNC machining center in 1988. |
